Christopher Eccleston is fantastic. A lot of the dialogue was sharp. The rest ... well, it wasn't all actively shit. Some of it was just meh. The direction was pedestrian, the effects just weren't up to scratch, and the music was dire.

There's potential, and next week's does look better, but at the moment it really wouldn't bother me much if I missed the rest of the series.

But everyone else liked it.

I liked it.

I was particularly impressed with the role Graham Norton played.
So you got that too? I think it must have been a Sky thing...
Well, I was watching on freeview, but I guess. Did it not show up on normal BBC?
Yes it did happen on standard terrestrial as well.
I didn't notice any Norton in the version we saw, although it did blank out for a moment.
It came over on the sound. I just thought it was a problem our end.

p.s WRONGHEAD!
Oh, don't you start. :p
I got that too. Very strange!
We got it on NTL digital. I think someone at the BBC was leaning on a button. :-)
Sounds like the most plausible explanation.
Bit embarrassing for their high profile premiere. It ruined the mood of the scene.
More than one I believe.
I blame sabeteurs from Ant & Dec...
heee. Never trust cheeky Geordie chappies...
Hmm I missed the first 4-5 mins and was gonna catch it tomorrow, turns out it was for the best then :)
Its repeated on BBC3 this evening: this time it won't matter if someone accidentally fades in the BBC3 audio again, as it is what you will be watching!
